A very short film at the festival….

Had some brilliant news today, a very short film I’ve made has been chosen as a finalist to be shown at Celluloid Screams, the Sheffield Horror Film Festival this coming weekend.

INSIDE, a short ‘bumper’ film, has been accepted as one of the finalists in the Celluloid Screams Film Festival Bumper Competition this weekend in Sheffield. Bumpers are 30 to 60 second short films designed to play before festival feature presentations. The winning Bumper will be announced at the close of the festival.

You can preview all the bumper competition entries, including mine, at the South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network SHOWROOM SHORTS at The Showroom Cinema Tuesday evening, 9pm.

Mine is a very personal little film, so I hope you can see it either Tuesday night, or at the festival this weekend in Sheffield.

BROKEN on BBC1 is almost over, just one more episode next week, 4th July – and this is the main episode for the Kerrigan family.

Radio Times Cast list, Broken Episode 6

Look at that cast list!
Bloody amazing group of people, all acted their hearts out for this lovely series.
Everyone has fingers crossed for a second series.
Last episode Tuesday July 4th.

But never fear!
You haven’t seen the last of me!

I will return in the Broken timeslot the following week for the first episode of IN THE DARK, starring MyAnna Buring. First episode is July 11th. Here’s the trailer…..

From Soaplife Magazine….

I only have a short scene with MyAnna Buring in the early scenes of the episode, but it was  lots of fun to do, as you will see. There’s more of me than there is today in the picture below –  I’ve lost over 30 pounds since then – and feeling much better for it!

With MyAnna Buring, shooting IN THE DARK for BBC

Here’s the link to my blog from back then….

And yesterday I went to the Readthrough for a new series for ITV.
I’ve one scene in one episode, but it’s a lovely scene with two AMAZING actors.
More about that later, I can say nothing at the mo!

That’s all folks! Keep watching your TV!

Old song – new version – new video

Hello there!!!! April has suddenly turned cold, we’ve had snow this week! Luckily the weather was warmer last week when my son Benjamin helped me make a new video for a song I originally recorded 4 years ago.

I’d never been happy with the original video. I shot it on my iPhone and I didn’t have playback of the song to sync with so I guessed the audio speed when I shot the video…. which made editing very difficult .

So I’ve been wanting to make a new video for some time and I recorded a new audio track for it as well, so what we have below is a whole new version.

That’s the new above…. below is the old version from 2013….

Hope you like one of them at least….

Cheers and stay warm. Especially on’t moors!

BROKEN is getting closer…

An interview with Anna Friel in the Sunday supplements said the new Jimmy McGovern series, BROKEN, is coming to BBC 1 soon.

I was delighted to see this tweet this afternoon that it’s already winning awards.

Anna Friel wins award for role in Broken
I’m in 4 episodes, not a huge role, but I play Sean Bean’s brother, so it’s a great part.

I’ll let you know more as details are released.

Back pain and new videos…

Oh the pain friends, oh the pain!

I did some tree pruning in the garden a couple of weeks ago, did something to my back and I’m now in agony with Sciatica.

Visits to the doctor have given me pain relief that’s not really touching it. I’ve not slept properly in days, moving from bed to floor to chair to find a comfortable position. My TENS machine goes everywhere, along with a tennis ball to press into the painful area.

Had some relief Wednesday from The Chinese Doctor. Massage and Acupuncture seems to have helped. I’m back today for more. Wish me well!

The pain has made sitting at the computer for editing difficult. A few minutes at the desk, on the floor for a while to relieve the pain, back for more editing and the cycle continues….

First up in the edit suite was a short doc with my hairdresser, Martin Strong, retiring after 45 years. I started seeing him from age 15 or so, and returned to him when I moved back to Sheffield. A lovely chap and I wish him well for the future.

I went for my final trim last week. Here’s his story…..

Next up is a new video of The Yorkshire Teabaggers in rehearsal. We met Monday and I sat when I needed to, used the mic stand for support whilst standing and managed to get through it. Follow us on Facebook for the latest gigs and videos!
Enjoy it!!!

Hoping to return to full back health very soon!!!!

Take care my lovelies! D x

A short horror film…

It’s the school holidays this week and I’ve had the pleasure of having my son Benjamin stay with me for a few days.

We’d had ideas for a short film concept a couple of weeks ago with the intention of making it this week.

All went to plan and we’re both very happy with the end result…
BENJAMIN – naughty or nice

Shot and edited in one day with a budget of £2.50 (for the t-shirt).

Benjamin is hoping for more film work and we certainly will be shooting more collaborations.

Anyone looking to cast a teenager for film/TV work, please contact me (below) and I will see if we can work together. Benjamin is a pleasure to work with. But then I would say that, I’m his Dad….

Editing and Voiceover by me!

There’s an important by-election coming up in Stoke on Feb 23.

I’m a member of WellRedFilms, a group that produced this video about some of the issues in this election… I did the voiceover and video editing. Please take a look and share…

WellRedFilms is fundraising at the moment to make more videos like this…. please take a moment to look at this and consider donating.

Cheers!

TV, Film and Teabagging!

It’s been an exciting few months here at McClellandMedia HQ….

I shot an episode of the new BBC TV series IN THE DARK, starring MyAnna Buring.
I shot an amazing leading role in the super new horror movie PANDORA.
I played a coach driver in new feature film DESTINATION: DEWSBURY
and there’s something new coming up very soon that I’m very excited about, but I can’t share as yet…
So it looks like you will see a lot of me on screens large and small over the next few months.

Add to that an upcoming gig by our band, THE YORKSHIRE TEABAGGERS, this very weekend at the Regather Venue in Sheffield – follow this link for all the details. We’ll be treating everyone to a drink, so don’t miss it!

Other recent events of note….. Well done Jeremy Corbyn! Let’s hope the Labour Party can now get on with fighting the Tories.
And it was a happy 84th birthday for my Mum, June McClelland, the very best mum in the world!
