Stage East is a professional company that produces live theatrical and musical performances.
Based in Amherst, NS, the geographical centre of the Maritimes, we celebrate the people of Canada’s Maritime provinces and their stories.
Stage East operates under the umbrella of the Great Amherst Cultural Society, a registered not for profit charity that is also responsible for Esther Fest. We are a relatively new group and are continuing to expand our offerings. As of 2026 we produce musical tribute shows celebrating East Coast artists and an annual original Christmas dinner theatre.

We are thrilled to announce Sirens of Song: Legendary Female Voices from the Maritimes, an all new Tribute show for 2026 co-produced with Festival by the Marsh from Sackville, NB! The show opened on June 14 in Amherst and now joins our Anne Murray and Rita MacNeil tributes on the road this summer and fall. This new show features New Brunswick’s Queen of the Blues, Theresa Malenfant, as well as four other female singer/musicians , all paying tribute to some of the East Coast’s best female singers and/or songwriters, including Sarah McLachlan, Carroll Baker, Anne Murray, Shirley Eikhard, and Rita MacNeil.
