About the Show<\/h3>\n

Sirens of Song, Legendary Female Voices from the Maritimes,<\/span><\/i> is a musical tribute celebrating over a dozen extraordinary female singers and\/or songwriters from Canada\u2019s Maritime provinces. This is our latest show and it opened June 14, 2026, in Amherst.<\/span><\/p>\n

Theresa Malenfant<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Five female singer\/musicians, including New Brunswick\u2019s Queen of the Blues, Theresa Malenfant, perform over twenty songs made famous by women from Canada\u2019s East Coast, including Sarah McLachlan, Carroll Baker, Anne Murray, Shirley Eikhard, Rita MacNeil, Holly Cole, Patsy Gallant, and Theresa herself. Joining Theresa on stage are Jennie Del Motte, Mirren Lithwick, Heather MacIntyre and Carley Varner-Joudrey, who have all appeared in our other tribute shows.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carley Varner-Joudrey, Jennie Del Motte, Mirren Lithwick and Heather MacIntyre<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Best-selling author, Charlie Rhindress, hosts the evening, sharing stories about these legendary east coast women and reading from his book, <\/span>Nova Scotia\u2019s Stars of Song<\/span><\/i>, which profiles many of the featured artists. Rhindress has worked with a number of the women showcased and shares stories from his time spent with them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sirens of Song<\/span><\/i> includes songs like \u201cWorking Man,\u201d \u201cAngel,\u201d \u201cSomething to Talk About,\u201d \u201cOne Drink is One Too Many,\u201d and \u201cYou Needed Me,\u201d and covers musical genres from country and rock to folk, opera and Celtic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This show is a co-production with Festival by the Marsh<\/a> from Sackville, NB and will be presented by them this summer.<\/p>\n
