PAUL BALLO BALLINGTON – “The singing plumber” from Dinnington, Sheffield. Specialising in Comedy songwriting. The two things I love the most in life (apart from family, Football & beer) are music and making people laugh. So, I thought, why not try and combine the two – so I did!! It all began in 2012 when I wrote a song called “Ten Pints of Carling” which took off way more than I expected. Since then I have written many more similar songs that many people can relate to. Numerous national and local TV & Radio performances – invited to perform Yorkshire themed “Tour de Yorkshire” song “Get on yer bike” at the opening ceremony in York. Written songs for charity – including raising over £800 for PACT & Bluebell Wood with a Christmas song, which also featured on local and national radio. Also write and record songs for special occasions – resulted in writing bespoke birthday songs – and also writing and performing a best man speech, bride speech and Father of the bride speech!! I’ve also had a great visit to Birmingham to shoot an episode of DOCTORS. Lot’s of fun and a very fast shoot. They really turn it around fast there.
Due to air in November. More details closer to the airdate.
And I’ve just recorded some dramatised segments for a BBC Radio 4 Documentary on the PETERLOO MASSACRE. Airs in August.
So, lot’s of ways to see or hear me.
Stay tuned, more is in the pipeline 🙂
Summer TV viewing can be pretty poor at the best of times, but promo ads for 2015 summer ‘entertainment’ aren’t making me want to sit inside watching the telly….. (other than the ‘Summer Fate’ promo for Emmerdale, but that’s another story..)
Flockstars – celebrities teamed up with a trained sheepdog to “compete in a series of sheepdog trials testing skill, technique and discipline in a bid to win the coveted Flockstars’ shield.” Coveted????? COVETED?????

I admit to watching One Man and his Dog when I was a nipper, but this show leaves me uninspired. I expect they will have to introduce killing and cooking whatever the dogs round-up to keep viewers.
Which brings us neatly to B.B.Q. Champ – “A team of ten contenders from across the country will compete against each other to become the first BBQ Champ and while Myleene Klass hosts the series, Man vs Food star Adam Richman will judge, alongside British chef and restaurateur Mark Blatchford. ”

I love a BBQ myself… my ancient gas grill rusts happily in the garden awaiting it’s next outing, if the rain ever stops. But watching other people BBQ without the smells, camaraderie and a cold beer? Not for me I’m afraid. Perhaps it’s all a plan to make us turn off the TV and go outdoors.
